Upholding Justice at the Highest Level
The Superior Court of Pennsylvania is one of the Commonwealth’s two statewide intermediate appellate courts. It hears appeals in criminal and most civil matters from the Courts of Common Pleas and issues opinions that guide lower courts across Pennsylvania.
As an error correcting appellate court, the Superior Court reviews the record from the trial court and the legal arguments raised on appeal. Its decisions may be reviewed by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in select cases through discretionary review.
