Upholding Justice at the Highest Level
The Indiana Supreme Court is the highest appellate court in the state and serves as the court of last resort for interpreting Indiana law and the Indiana Constitution. It provides statewide guidance by issuing opinions that shape how laws are understood and applied across Indiana.
The court is made up of five justices, including a chief justice. It reviews select appeals from the Indiana Court of Appeals through its transfer process and also exercises original authority in specific areas such as attorney admission and discipline, judicial discipline, and broader supervision of the state court system.
