Upholding Justice Across Alaska

The Alaska Court of Appeals serves as the state’s intermediate appellate court, focusing exclusively on criminal matters. Established in 1980 by the Alaska Legislature, the court reviews decisions from the Superior and District Courts in criminal cases, including appeals related to post-conviction relief, juvenile delinquency, extradition, habeas corpus, probation and parole, bail, and sentencing matters. The court comprises a chief judge and three associate judges.
